MARCHING ON TIBET. CALCUTTA, October 10. j From Lhasa it is reported that 10,000 Mongolians from Urga are marching on Tibet, supposedly for the purpose of presenting a petition to the Dalai Lama. The Dalai Lama has sent a big party { of nobles to gather the real intentions j of the invaders. He himself is known ; to hold progressive views, and therefore j is looked upon with suspicion by the conservatively-minded Buddhist monks.
