THE UNEMPLOYED.
POSITION EASIER. The list of unemployed at the local Labour Office to-day showed the number of men seeking work to be 144, of whom 110 are classed as fit for heavy and 34 for light employment. Labourers again head the list with 58 applicants, the only other calling to run into double figures being motor drivers 13. During the week the Department found employment for 27 men, three of whom were sent to Government works and the following placed in private work: 15 labourers, five factory hands, two farmhands, and a carpenter, bricklayer, clork, gardener, and motordriver.
