BISHOP NELIGAN MEMORIAL. The Diocesan Synod continued its iMth scss'on yesterday afternoon and evening, the IJishop of Auckland (Dr. Averill) presiding. The Bishop Neligan Memorial Fund was in credit to the amount of £444. with £100 promised, said Archdoacon Mac Murray. The bill contained an amending clause providing that it should be competent to admit as subscribers to the clergy pension fund laymen engaged in the ecclesiastical province of New Zealand as bona fide whole-time employees of the ChuTch in such institutions as might from time to time be approved. Another clause empowered the establishment, maintenance and management of a women workers' pension fund, to which would be admitted as subscribers women engaged in New Zealand as bona fide whole-time employees. The following were elected lay representatives to the General Synod:— Messrs. C. Hudson, A. B. Roberton, W. H. Skinner, and C. J. Tunks. ■ The Parish Statute Amendment Bill and the Diocesan Synod Election Statute passed the second reading.
