Marked money was the cause of the arrest of a married man aged 43, who admitted this morning that he stole 10/, the property of his employers, Hannah and Co. The police stated that the firm had had a big shortage in receipts. A detective purchased a pair of boots from accused, and paid for them in marked money, and accused put the docket in for boys' hoots valued at 18/6, whereas the boots received cost 28/6. He was remanded, his name being suppressed in the meantime.
