END OF A LOVE AFFAIR.

lOUNG WOMAN'S SUICIDE. The tragic sequel to a love affair was described at an Inquest at Paddington ou Miss Kathleen Kogprn, aged 20, of Independent means, who died in St. Mary's llospltnl after throwing hersolf from a window of her third-floor flat at Blckcnhall Mansions, Marylebonc Road, on Thursday. Tho (lead woman's eieter, Mrs. Helen Judd, said that Miss ltogcrs had been much upset recently owing to the unhappy termination of a love affair. She had been engaged to bo married, but about three weeks ago the man told her that they would havo to wait, and the engagement was virtually broken off. Since then Miss Rogers had been greatly depressed, and once or twice ehe had Bald that sho did not think Bhe could go on living. The future, sho declared, appeared hopeless, and the world seemed all black. She also used to declare that nobody wanted her except her own people. She consulted a doctor, and confided to him the full story of her trouble. Sho told him that she was afraid that her brain might have been turned, and evinced a fear that her mental condition might necessitate her entering tome Institution for treatment. That night witness slept In the same bed with her, bnt when she awoke next mornIng Mlsb Rogers was missing. On looking out of the window she saw her sister lying in the baeement 45 feet beneath. Her death occurred in hospital shortly afterwards. Recording a verdict of sulcido while of unsound mind, the coroner remarked that had the deceased been a woman of normal mental balance she would not have taken her disappointment so much to heart. She would probably have found comfort in the reflection that "there ere as ftood fish In the sea as ever came out of it."
