BISHOP NELIGAN MEMORL4.L. The Diocesan Synod continued its 24th sess ! on yesterday afternoon and evening, the Bishop of Auckland (Dr. Averill) presiding. The Bishop Neligan Memorial Fund was en credit to the amount of £444. with £100 promised, said Archdeacon Mac Murray. The memorial was to take the form of a. window in the sanctuary at St. Mary's Cathedral, Parncli. Plans of the window had been received from overseas, and, with a few minor alterations, the window represented should be entirely satisfactory. It would be in complete harmony with the present sanctuary windows. A bill amending the Clergy Pension Fund Statute passed the second reading. The bill contained an amending clause providing that it ehould be competent to admit as subscribers to the clergy pension fund laymen engased in the ecclesiastical province of New Zealand as bona fide whole-time employees of the Church in such institutions as might from time to time be approved. Another clause empowered the establishment, maintenance afld management of a women workers' pension fund, to which would be admitted as subscribers women engaged in New Zealand as bona fide whole-time employees. The following were elected lay representatives to the General Synod: — Messrs. C. Hudson, A. B. Hoberton, W. H. Skinner, and C. J. Tunks. ' The Parish Statute Amendment Bill and the Diocesan Synod Election Statute passed the second reading.
