GLASS WORKS AT AUCKLAND SHOW. j An exhibition that should receive a j big share of patronage at the Auckland I A. and P. Show this year will be one of j instructive value, the "American Glase Works," where visitors will -see the , actual manufacture of all kinds of j glassware novelties and -souvenirs from i the raw material to the finished without the aid of moulds of any kind. Walkingstieks Kangaroos, Swans. Lizards, j Snakes, Magpies, and Kiwis, all made en- | tirely of glass in their beautiful natural colours are some of the many articles made by the glass blowers at the Glass Works. A feature of the demonstration is spinning glass on a large wheel revolving at a high rate of speed, thousands of feet in length, finer than silk, and unbreakable. This will be a j unique opportunity to see the Glass J Works in operation.— (Ad.) j An advertisement of special interest to I South African war veterans appears in j this issue. In connection with t.he Pensions Bill brought down by the Government it is neenssary to know how many I veterans there are of the war of 25 j years ago, when New Zealand sent ten j contingents, aggregating 7000 men. to 1 fight the battles of the Empire. The I Auckland branch, in connection with j the affiliated ones of the league, is . now taking a census of South African 'veterans in New Zealand.
