In the process of their manufacture "Minties" are not handled except by machinery. They are mixed, cooled, cut, wrapped in wax tissue, and packed in air-tight drums, entirely by the moat modern and almost human machinery. "Minties" should quickly become a very popular sweet. Their delicate refreshing flavour, together with the fact that they do not stick to the teeth, make them an ideal sweet for the coming summer. They are made by the James Stedman, Henderson Sweets Company. The method of packing enrures "Minties" being sold ;to the public in a perfect condition. All confectioners sell "Minties" at sozs for a shilling. They are very refreshing and particularly good after meals, acting as a digestive. Take some home to-night and give your family a treat. After a couple of days of sunny weather the conditions changed last evening, the-wind going round to the north-east and the sky becoming dull and overcast, and at an early hour this morning light rain commenced to fall. The downfall continued, with an occasional break, up till 1 p.m., when rain was still falling steadily. The change in the conditions is strikingly illustrated by the action of the barometer, which shows a particularly Hharp fall.- On Thursday evening the reading was 30.20 in, but throughout yesterday the mercury fell steadfly, and at 1 \>.m. to-day the level was down ,to 2a.3oin, and stjU falling.
