THE ROWING CHAMPIONSHIPS.
GUARANTEE FROM HAMILTON. (B.r Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.! HAMILTON", this day. There are good prospects of the next New Zealand amateur rowing champion ships being decided on the Waikato River at Hamilton over the greater portion of the course on which* it is proposed to row the Hannan-Arnst race next month. The Hamilton AnniversaryDay Regatta Committee are to ask the Auckland Rowing Club to push their claims for the championship before the annual meeting of delegates to the N.Z.R.A. towards the middle of next month. This was decided on at a full meeting last nicht. when it was resolved to guarantee a minimum of £210 prize money, which would be allocated to championship events as follows: —Senior fours, £20; single sculls, £25: pair oars, £20; in addition tHygiinor events, all of which would caawi; prize r.-.oney. a consolatiori'fogfs. I£2ol would also be placed on tbe pf^gjamme. Anniversary Day. Janauary 20. is the date on which the championship will be rowed if these claims are acceded.
