THE "ALL BLACKS.
WHY THEY WOK. "SPORTING MIX" COMMENT. ' LONDON, September 15. ''Sporting Life, ,, in a. critical impression of the "All Blacks," says: "Few of the Devon men had put on the boot this season, so it was astounding that they should have compelled a thoroughlytrained and perfectly-organised combination to play such a game. In many ways the '"All Blacks" were disappointing: in other -ways they were fascinating. The forwards did not hook well, but po~siblj the three-two-three formation of their rivals was disconcerting in attack. However, the "All Black" forwards are immense. All. are very fast in the loose, and they break away at great speed. Their height and .strength, in the line-out makes them formidable. The outsides, F. Vfe Lucas, K. S. Svenson, , and Dalley. will contribute much to the success of the team. Their ability to give and take | a reverse pass at full speed is extraordinary."—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
