WELLINGTON", this day An industrial dispute as to officer 1 *" rates of pay and conditions of work in the coastal shipping trade Was ib'efore the Conciliation Council to-day. The employers are the applicants*in" the dispute. The minimum rates of pay offered by the employers _re: Steamers of 101 to 600 gross tons, masters £34 <i/S, chief officers . £25 6/8, second officers £21 6/S. Steamer's of 601 to 1000 tons: Masters £36 6/8, chief officers £26 6/8, second officers £22 .6/8. The Guild's claim is: "A"—Master £38, chief officer £25 5/, second officer £22 5/; "B"—-Master £40, chief officer £25 15/, [•second officer £22 15/. '-» After a brief discussion it was decided to defer for the present consideration of rates of pay.
