DOMINION SCHOLARSHIP FOR RESEARCH.

NEW ZEALAND WINNERS. (From Our Own CorrcsDonrlcnf.) LONDON, July 29. In the early part of this year the governing body of the Imperial College of Science and Technology were enabled, by generous donations from Sir Arthur I Acland, Bt., and Sir Otto Beit, Bt., to establish a scheme of ten Dominion scholarships for research work in science, tenabe at the college during the academic yeaT 1024-25. open to university graduates in the several Dominions and in India. With the co-operation of the Irdia Office and the Colonial Office respectively, appointments to these scholarships have now been made by the respective Governments as follows:— India.—Mr. Sarbbanisaha Guha Sircar (Calcutta University); Mr. A. S. Gancean (Madras University). Australia.—Miss M. 1,. Collins, M.Sc. I (University of Sydney), for work in Economic Botany, including Forestry; and Mr. A. 8. Fitzpatrick, M.Sc. (University of Melbourne), for work in Applied Chemistry, especially in relation to fuels. Canada.—Mr. Armand Circe, C.E. (Ecole Polytechnique, Montreal), and Mr R- J. Henry, B.Sc. (University *of Toronto). New Zealand.—Mr. H. L. Richardson M.Sc.
