Following upon a large number of motor car and silk shop robberies, the police in two raids recovered fifteen cara, arrested five youths, and brought to light £1000 worth of silk goods, the proceeds of recent robberies. i Most of the car robberies are attributed to youthfuL joy riders, who generally abandon the cars undamaged.— (A. and N.Z. As a result of the alarming frequency of claims and the resultant heavy payment for damaged motor cars, leading insurance companies have decided in i future not to pay damage claims.
