PECULATION ADMITTED.
THEFT OF £412 7 Iβ. COMMITTED FOR SENTENCE: Eric Henry Thompson (24), Mr. Keegan, appeared before Mr. J. W. Poynton, S.M., at the Police Court this morning, and pleaded guilty to the theft of £412 7/6, the property of W. and R. Fletcher, Ltd. In a statement made to ActingDetective White, accused said that he had taken the money at various periods, hoping to repay it. However, when the books were audited, he confessed tbat he had taken the money, which, he had spent on his own pleasure. Senior-Detective Hammond said that accused had given the police every assistance in clearing the matter up. He pleaded guilty and was committed for sentence at the Supreme Court. Bail, £500, was allowed.
