J . (By Telesraplu—Own Correspondent.) PAPABOA, this day. At a meeting of the county council to-day, the following tendera were accepted:— Paparoa to railway station, loading and carting metal. Mays, Brown, and Mills, 0/3 I a yard; Whakapiraa-Maungaturoto ttoad i quarrying, stripping, and crushing metal, •8/ a yard; Kobertson's lioad, Whakapirau I formatiou, l>. Fergus, £170; Hukatere j access road, quarrying and napping i-inch metal, A. Siiich, 0/ a yard. Permission was granted the MaungatuI roto Telephone Association to erect a new line to Huarau to connect with the Paparoa I Association's line. It was resolved to sdp- ' port the North Anckland Progress League's request to Parliament for legislation to , permit North Auckland counties to contribute funds to the League. Mr. A. Bull, as a deputation re Paparoa Waikiekie Koad, asked for assistance, a portion of the road being in a deplorable state. He waa informed that £300 would be spent on metalling all Mareretu end next summer, and that repairs would be undertaken at the Paparoa end as soon as pos= sible.
