Erery year, the same aa everyone else, at least, most people—the Broadway Theatre has a birthday, and, although we don't supply birthday cake, we make an endeavour to put forward something extra to please our ' patrons. This year our birthday arrives next week so we have decided to hold an "Anniversary Week," and have, therefore, secured three programmes for the week, which are all Specials in every sense of the word- In addition we have arranged Special Dance Prologues, which we are sure will meet with your approval. The Broadway Theatre is patronised by the best people, and has a reputation for good programmes, good music, and courteous attention to our patrons. The Picture is well defined, clear and as steady as a rock. This reputation we are rather proud of, and to retain it is, of course, our main object. To attain this reputation careful consideration has been given in the selection of programmes so that no matter on what evening you decide to patronise this theatre you are certain of good entertainment. The first of our Anniversary Week Programmes will be shown on Next Monday and Tuesday evenings. The main feature will be Booth Tarkington's "Penrod and Sam," a picture that has a laugh in every foot of its length. In addition, and by kind permission of Miss Daphne Knight, Dainty Dance Solos (re Presenting a Butterfly and Bird of Paradise) will be given by Misses Viria Andrews and Edith Graham, two of Miss Knight's leading pupils. The Overture at 7.45 p.m. by the Famous Broadway Orchestra will be Suppe's "Morning, Xoon and Night." On Wednesday and Thursday, August 13-14, we are screening J. Hartley Manner's "Peg O' My Heart," This picture has such a reputation that it is unnecessary to remind you that it is one of the greatest successes of the year. Miss Gwen MacNaughton, the N.Z. Championship Holder, will dance "The Irish Jig" a3 a Prologue to this Metro Special. Overture, Wednesday and Thursday, at 7.45, will be Offenbach's "Orpheus in der Underwelt." Friday and Saturday, 15-16— "All the Brothers Were Valiant." A Metro Super-production and an intense and stirring sea story. Overture "Light Cavalry," by Suppe. So Come Along to the BROADWAY On ANNIVERSARY WEEK, NEXT WEEK.
