I Position of the Teams. 1 The following is the present position lof the primary schools' Rugby competi- | tion:— I A GRADE. j The first round ended with Beresford Street and Maungawhau leading, and Ivowhai B one point behind. In the second round, Kowhai has defeated Maungawhau, tlius placing Beresford .Street first, Kowhai B one point behind I and Maungawhau one point behind Kowhai. Brresford Street lias yet to meet both these teams in the 'second round. n GRADE. ! __ The first round ended with Te Papapa first (IS points), Newmarket second :il:n. and Onehunga third (12). Since then Te Papapa has gained four more points, making its present total 22. As J only 10 points may be won by any team Jin the second round, Te Papapa needs ;only one more win to gain the chamjpionship. C GRADE. In tile first round Parnell won every [match and Remuera all but one. In : the second round neither team has had ■ii loss so rar, and provided that they I iiro not defeated in the meantime, their J meeting in a fortnight will decide the I fompetition. If Parnell loses to ; Kemuera they will stand even in points I and will play off. j D GRADE. I Ourran Street is leading, being yet j unbeaten, with Kelson Street runnerslup and Bayfield and Devonport next. As Currnn Street lias a lead of 0, and only 10 points may be gained in the third round, they should win the championship. j JUNIORS. I The winning teams in the five sections, ' namely, Richmond Road, Vermont A, Kowhai. Curran Street and Remuera, have been regrouped to play a final j knock-out round. The first week's play in this round resulted:—Kowhai 6, defeated Richmond Road 0; Vermont 11, defeated Remuera 0; Curran Street, a j bye. I ' The games at Cornwall Park this jweek were really exhibitions of "pea I soup" football. The grounds were in a worse condition than they have been j for years. Despite this, there was a ; keen struggle between Otahuhu and ; Cornwall Park, with the former side I victorious. A feature of the game was ; the splendid display given by the I Otahuhu full-back. J Mount Roskill easily defeated Royal Oak, who took the field with 12 players. The winners were far too inclined to talk. I Ellerslie juniors defeated Onehunga by 17 to nil. i
