CHINESE AFFAIRS.
AGREEMENT WITH GERMANY.
(Received 1 p.m.)
PEKING, July 9
Cabinet yesterday discussed the recent Note from the French Legation, saying that it understood a Chino-German agreement had been reached, which contravened the Versailles Treaty as regards the disposal of German property. The Legation reserved the right to protest.
Cabinet resolved to forward an early reply. The Government received a telegram from Wu-pei-fu urging that both the British and American returned Boxer indemnities be used for railway construction.
The British, Japanese, and French Legations submitted another formal protest to Wai-chiao-pu regarding Dr. Sun-yat-sen's recent establishment of the Salt Administration at Canton.—Reuter.
