TENDERS VERT FAVOURABLE. AN EARLY ANNOUNCEMENT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) WELLINGTON, this day. Questioned concerning an article pub-1 lished in the "Auckland Star," specu- I lating on the cause of the delay in accepting a tender for the Arapuni hydroelectric scheme, the Minister of Public Works explained that the delay was due solely to his endeavour to get the best possible value for the money to be expended. "The tenders are favourable," jhe added, "very favourable, in fact, and lit is only a matter of a short time ! before the acceptance of one will be ! announced. We are going on with Ara-, puni, any other suggestion would be '. absurd." I
