THIRD GRADE COMPETITION.
WHITE HORSE CUP TOURNAMENT. THE DRAW. Six entries have been received by the Auckland Hotkey Association for the annual White Horse Cup tournament, which opens at the Kemuera grounds on Monday afternoon next. Piako. the present country champions, arc defending the trophy, while Rodney and Whangarei will again meet in friendly rivalry. Neither of these t-vvo sub-associations have missed a tournament since the commencement of the competition in 1012. Franklin and Thames will again be represented, and Waipa will make a reappearance after several years' absence. The , tournament, which will be run by a committee consisting of Messrs. L. C. Kent, L. H. Norton, and H. B. Speight, promises to be very interesting. Referees who are available to take matches next week are requested to hand their names to Mr. Nicholson or Mr. Kent at once. The following is the draw for the matches :— Monday.—Rodney r. Thames, Waipa v. Piako. Franklin v. Whangarei-
Tuesday.—Rodney v. Waipa, Thames v. Whangarei, Franklin v. Piako. Wednesday. — Rodney v. Franklin, Thames v. -Waipa, Piako v Whangarei. Thursday.—Rodney v. Piiiko, Thames v Franklin, Waipa v. Whangarei. Friday.—Rodney v. Whangarei, Thames v. Piako, Waipa v. Franklin. A meeting of managers of country teams will be held at the Security Buildings on Monday at 10.30 a.m. The visiting teams will be entertained at a dance by the Aucklaud Hockey Association in St. Benedict's Hall on Wednesday night, while the annual smoko will take place on the following Friday. In addition to the six men's teams, nine country ladies' teams will also visit Auckland next week to participate in the Auckland Provincial Cup tournament, under the auspices of the Auckland Ladies' Hockey Association.
