ORPHANS' CLUB COXCF.RT. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.! rUKEKOHE, Friday. The Tukekohe Orphans' Club held a most enjoyable function Inst night, the vicepresident. Mr. J. G. Ward, presiding over a big attendance. Advantage was taken of an opportunity to make a presentation to Mr. XX'ard. who is leaving Pukekohc to take up his residence at Hawera. The president of the club, Mr. . F. A. Hosking. asked Mr. XX'ard to accept an inscribed silver jug from the members as a slight token of the esteem in which he was held, and in recognition of services given to promote the welfare of the club. At a social afternoon arranged by the Franklin Plunket Society, Xlrs. XX'ard. one of the origiuators of the Plunket movement in this district, was presented by members with a beautiful vase as a mark of appreciation of her good work. Mrs. Ward leaves shortly ,with her husband for Hawera. At a meeting of the Loyal Pukekohe Lodge. X 1.1".. 1.0.0.F.. the rnilowtig officer-? were installed:—Noble Grand, Bros. J. C. I.yne: X"ice Grand. V.ro. It. C. Xle.-trs: Klective Secretary. Sis. A. Wood: Immediate P.G.. llro. 1,. Fraser. After the ceremony the newly elected olHcers were addressed by the District Grandmaster.
