AN HOTEL ON FIRE.
DESTROYED IN" HAZF AX HOUR. CRy Telegraph.—Press Association. , * WA3TGASUT, this day. The Waitotara Hotel, a buiLilng- of sixteen rooms, was completely destroyed by fire at ten o'clock last nialit. There was no fire-figlitlmr apparattis in the township, and the flames, fanned by a strong northerly wind, reduced the place to ashes within half an hour. Had the wind been in the opposite direction, the township would have suffered severely. The building was owned by T. and W. Young, of Wellington, and insured for £750, the office not heing known. The stock and the furniture were insured for £. r )00 with the Kew Zealand Insurance Company.
