MUDDLED BOOKS.
UN-OX FUNDS MISSING. CHARGE ACAIXST SECRETARY. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) HAMILTON, Monday. William SliaAV, late secretary of the Hamilton Labour party, pleaded guilty to-day to five charges of the theft of sums totalling £99 17/4, including £82 19/0, the property of the Society of Carpenters and Joiners, £8 9/3 the property of the Painters and Decorators' Union, and £5 3/7 the property of the Labour Representation Committee. Thomas Bloodworth, secretary of the Auckland Society of Carpenters and Joiners, in giA-ing evidence said that no attempt had been made to falsify the books. If accused had kept his books correctly he would not have got into the muddle. Accused Avas committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
