At a meeting of the Christchurch Dress and Mantle Makers' Union the following resolution was passed, and the secretary was instructed to forward a copy to "the Hon. G. J. Anderson, Minister of Labour: "This union protests against the present form of the Apprentices' Act which exempts females from any benefits of the Act, submitting that the highest skill is needed in the dressmaking trade and contending that Parliament has committed an injustice to apprentices coming into the trade.'' Mr. N. B. Spencer, of Auckland, who has recovered from his recent illness, leaves by the Makura to-day on a holiday visit to Honolulu. ft is a mistake to delay treatment for headache, sneezing, running at the nose, and full watery eyes.
