OFFER OF PURCHASE. BRITAIN Witt, DESTROY IT. LONDON, May 16. The "Daily Express" states that a remarkable sacrifice has been made in the cause of peace by the British Government. This is the refusal of an offer received from Baltic interests to buy large quantities of"Britain's surplus war material. Die Mac Donald Cabinet not only vetoed the sale, but made a general decision against all such sales. It is understood that the sum involved was £10,000,000. The surplus material will be destroyed (A. and N.Z._Cable.)
