BRITAIN AND SOVIET.
POINTS OF DIVERGENCE. CONFERENCE ADJOURNED. (Received 9.30 a.m.) , LONDON, May 16. A communique in connection with a plenary meeting of the Anglo-Soviet Conference states that the British were excluded from the scope of the conference peace treaties, to which other countries were the co-signatories without consulting the latter. Questions were discussed concerning claims by British subjects in Russia since the revolution, and inter-governmental claims, in which divergence of opinion resulted. The conference adjourned to afford the Soviet representatives an opportunity of studying the British proposals and remits until May 20.—(A. and N.Z.)
