NOTES FROM CHRISTCHURCH. (By Telegraph. —Special to " Star.") CHRISTCHURCH, Friday. Adair is now trained by W. J. Tomkinson. The Southern-owned pacer looks a good deal on the light side, and it may be some time berore he is ready to race. Locanda Bell is kept hard at it, and appears to thrive on plenty of work, as she is pacing well. , J The trotter Proud Ata has trained on well and will be raced at the Canterbury Park Club's meeting, provided ho stands the final winding-up process Arter his return from Dunedin, J. The horse seems to have come on a good deal during the last month, and should race in improved form when next started. A Cox worked his two trotters, Nelson Bell and Read Heather, together yesterday morning, and both horses gave a good display. Cox drove the younger horse, which was on tbe outside, and his showing proved him to be in his best rorm. Nelson Bell has taken some time to develop, but he has such a fine turn or speed that he should soon win a race. Unfortunately he has not raced too well in the past.
