FRAUDULENT CONVERSION.

ADMITTED TO PROBATION. (By Telegraph.— -Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. .- At the Supreme Court to-day, i Frederick Joseph Fanning, a well known I land agent, was brought up for sentence for fraudulently converting £100 to his own use. It was stated that a friend had repaid the money. Mr. Justice Chapman, admitting accused to probation for two years, said that the prisoner had gone through a lot of trouble, but had brought it on himself by drinking bouts. If the prisoner misbehaves himself during the probation period, he would be severely dealt with.
