Captain ■ Parker, the officers and men of the Fleet had a great reception' at ■ whaka. this morning by Mita Taupopoki and the Tahourangi tribe. Captain Fairburn read a message from Admiral Brand to the effect that he never enjoyed himself better than on the Rotorua trip, their entertainment having been unique and delightful. He asked Mita and the tribe to accept photos enclosed of himself, Captain Parker and the ships Delhi and Repulse. Maori girls gave a poi dance then "hongied" with Captain Parker and senior officers. Snapshots of Mita and Captain Parker in native costume were taken. There was an animated scene when the visitors departed, amid cheers and counter cheers.
