HOUSING IN BRITAIN.
NEW SYSTEM OF SUBSIDY. PRE-WAR LEVEL RENTS. (Received 11 a.m.) LOXDON, May 15. LAn important item in the Government's housing policy is contained in a circular issued iby the Ministry of Health to the local authorities. It is announced that an agreement was reached at the recent housing conference providing for a subsidy of £13 10/ annually for each house for a period of 40 years, the Government providing two-thirde and the local authorities the remaining one-third. It is also stipulated that rentals be equal to pre-war levels.— (Reuter.)
