' Hooker was to-day charged with the ' theft of money which he should have accounted for to the Commissioner of 1 Crown Lands for the sale of stock when I farming at Pukokaha. A large number • of animals were sold, and it was alleged i that defendant received £358, proceeds ' from the same. Defendant pleaded not < guilty, reserved his defence, and was committed for trial at the Supreme Court in Wanganui on May 20.
