Already it has j 1 been shifted several times. "When will I j Horahora power be available?" has been | the cry in electricity circles for months, . and even now no man can truthfully ( answer it. j 1 "The Government first of all premised us that power from Horahora | I hydro-electric station on the Waikato t River would he here by the coming July; j) then they told us that it would be the j t end of the present year; now, within ] the last few days they tell us that i every endeavour will be made to give us power by the winter of 192..'." said the i chairman of the Auckland Electric _ Power Board (Mr. AY. J. Holdsworth) at the meeting, of the board, when, as i usual, there were several applications for current that were dependent on get- ] ting the promised 2000 k.w. from the Government to eke out the power 1 generated at the board's own station at King's wharf, Auckland. "If you know of any means by which ] you can push on the Government to ! hurry on Horahora it will be of help to the whole of your area." said Mr. Holdsworth. in answer to a deputation from the Mangere residents near the < bridge head, who wanted a line run across from Onehunga.
