The home captain won the toss and sent the visitors In on a good wicket. The innings lasted three and a half hours nnd realised 186 (Nourse .' l.atterall 24, Deane 21. Taylor 21. Blanckenberg 20). Barrett took five wickets for sf> runs, and Richmond three for 4» Bar-r.-tt and Oates combined effectively in attack, the former at one stage having four I wickets for 0 runs. The visitors were victims of several doubtful decisions When stumps were drawn Notts h.d lost five wickets for 03 runs (Whysail _5_ (A. and N.Z. Cable.) ;
