CEMENT OF EMPIRE.
MINISTERS IN LONDON.
POLITICIANS FROM DOMINIONS
(Received 10.30 a.m.)
LONDON (Ontario), May 14.
Sir Robert Borden, former Premier, addressing the Women's Canadian Club, suggested bringing the whole British Empire into closer co-operation by having resident ministers in Britain to voice the opinion of the Dominions on the external affairs of the Empire. One great difficulty hitherto in -±he way of the greater unity of the Empire had been the fact that the Mother Country held a sort of trusteeship on the administration of external affairs. Now the Do- ' minions have begun to have a voice we must try to find means so that each separate part may express its desire.— (A. and NX Cable.) ,
London from whence this message comes is a city and port of entry, and the capital of Middlesex County, Ontario, on two branches of the Thames, 116 miles from Toronto. Very many of the principal streets are named after the famous ones in the real London. The population of the town is 40,000.
