BRISBANE, this day.
The Orient liner Orvieto ran aground last night near the mouth of the Brisbane River. A passing steamer unsuccessfully attempted to tow her off. Two tugs have left to give assistance. The position is not seri us. A further attempt will be made this morning.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
