WESTERN SPRINGS ROAD.
<To the Editor.)
Sir, —The footpath in that portion of Western Springs Road for which the Mt. Albert Borough Council is responsible has recently been placed in good repair, but the remainder, which is under the control of the City Council, resembles a cow track more than a path intended for the use of human beings. When it was within Pt. Chevalier road district it received attention at least once a year. Its present condition is disgraceful and furnishes a marked contrast between the City Council's neglect and the efficiency of the Mt. Albe;-t Borough Council so far as footpaths are concerned. This matter should receive immediate attention before the wet weather turns the clay track into a mud bath. Other matters calling for urgent action are lighting and channelling. A lio-ht at the corner of Bannerman Road and Western Springs Road would be hailed with delight. —I am, etc., DISGUSTED RATEPAYER.
