METHODISTS ENTERTAINED.
The Methodist men with the fleet
iwere yesterday entertained by the laymen of the city and suburbs. Care ifor about a hundred men were placed 'at the disposal of Rev. J. E. Parsons, Methodist chaplain on the Auckland station, by Mr. Qeorge Winstone, jim., convener of the Cars Committee. After a very pleasant run the party went to the Piccadilly Tea Booms, and were entertained "by Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Caughey. The thanks of the men were ■voiced by Rev. H. V. Thompson, chaplain of H.M.A.s. Adelaide. He said he had been impressed with the readiness of the Methodists, of Xew Zealand to cater for the needs of its men. At all the ports special entertainments had 'been prepared, and he assured their hosts that the men were 'returning to the Old Land with a very real sense of the alivenesa of Methodism in Xew , Zealand.
