LEAGUE FOOTBALL.

THE 1924 KICK-OFF. TEAMS FOR SATURDAY. The League season will kick-off on Saturday at Carlaw Park and elsewhere, and the star attractions of the day will be on the park, where four senior games will be decided, so that followers of the several teams will be able to watch the form without inconvenience. In order to obtain this result, two of the senior games will be started at 1.30 p.m., followed immediately by two others on the same playing areas. Ponsonby v. Mangere, and Marists v. Ellerslio are the two opening , games, to be followed by Newton v. City and Richmond v. Athletics. This will give patrons a review on the same ground of the whole of the senior play, and special interest attaches to the opening day's play with the advent of Mangere and EUerslie into senior rank, and a number of changes in the other teams. Hammill presiding. A grant of £5 5/ was made to the Poppy Day fund. A request from the Lower Walkato Reps, to play a match on May 3 and 10 with the teams drawing the bye on those dates was left to the clubs R Callaghan was granted a transfer from City to Newton, and A. Williams from Ponsonbv to Ellerslie United. The colours of the Mangere Club were registered green and black. The number of vice-president's tickets for junior clubs was extended to 20, and the usual invitation was extended to the Inmates of the Evelyn Firth Home to attend the matches.
