SPORTS FOR THE STRIKERS.
ARRANGING FOOTBALL MATCHES. At both yesterday and to-day's meeting of the "A.S.R.S. at the Trades Hall the officials impressed upon the strikers the importance of sobriety, and pointed out that nothing was to be gained if tha men were to spend their time frequenting hotels. In order to keep the men together arrangements are being made to hold football matches at Carlaw Park, and if the strike continues into next week, then sports programmes will be drawn up. It is not anticipated there will be any difficulty in securing the use of Carlaw Park.
