The Melanesian Mission steamer Southern Cross is to sail at noon on Thursday on a three months' cruise of the mission stations in the southwestern Pacific. She will visit the stations on Norfolk Island and in the Solomons and New Hebrides group. A cargo of 8000 tons of fuel oil to bunker the British cruisers of the special service squadron on their arrival at Auckland in May was brought by the Admiralty Etore ship War Krishna (5730 tons), which dropped anchor in the stream today. The War Krishna (Capta.n A. Falconer) is from Abadan in the Persian Gulf, via Colombo hay ing cleared on March 14. She will remain at anchor in the stream for the .next thjee week*. . -■ • . .««
