VISIT TO FIJI (From Our Own Correspondent.) SUVA, April 17. : The team of cricketers from Auckland arrived in Suva on April 5 by the Tofua, and received a warm welcome, being officially welcomed by the Mayor (Mr. G. F. Grahame), and driven to the Grand Pacific Hotel, where a late luncheon was enjoyed, finishing about 3 o'clock. An adjournment was then made to the cricket ground on Albert Park, where a scratch game was played. The same evening the visitors were,driven to > Nausori, 12 miles inland on the Rewa River, where a big dance was held in their honour, over 200 people being pre- • 6erit. On Sunday morning the partyleft by launch for Levuka, where they had a very hearty welcome. Rain has interfered somewhat during the week with the Levuka matches. New Zealand defeated Levuka by an innings and 9 runs on the Monday. and Tuesday. On Wednesday the first Test match started*' Again rain caused the opening to be postponed from 11 till "2 o'clock. The wicket was soft and difficult to play, but the visitors were too good for the Fiji lads. The team returned to Suva, on Sunday, nnd will stay in-Suva for the rest of their stay, with the exception of a two days' visit -to' the old native capital of Bau, where they are assured of a- splendid welcome. All the team are well.
