The North Auckland Rifle Association'! annual meeting commenced on Easter Monday at Otaika Range. Owing to- transit difficulties' the number of the competitors was not up to the total of previous years, several from Auckland being debarred. The weather was dull at the opening, but cleared later. The first match of the day, the Kamo match, 200 yards, was won by Rifleman J. P. White, of Whangarei, who registered the possible. He was closely followed by Rifleman C. Baker (Whangarei) and Beaton (Akarana), who only dropped one apiece. The Whangarei match (300 yardß) was won by President P. J. Tobln (Whangarei), with 47. The .Ruakaka match at 500 yards, was fought out between Rifleman E. J. Reston and Colquhoun, of the Akarana Club. Both registered one off the possible, but Colquhoun beat Reston on the count back, as tbe latter finished with an inner. Rifleman J. P. White was third with 48. The Parua Bay match (600 yards), was won .by Rifleman J. P. White, with the fplendid score of 48, Rifleman Reston and '. Erceg (Ruakaka) taking second and third with 46 points each. A sweepstake match of seven shots at 500 yards saw some hot shooting, President P. J. Tobln and Rifleman E. J. Reston being equal (first) with possibles of 35 points. Rifleman White was third with 34. At the conclusion of the fourth match.* the position of the aggregate - leaders for the "Advance" Cup and champion medal was:—E. J. Reston (Akarana) and J. P. White (Whangarei), equal, 190; C. Bake* (Whangarei), 183 ; W. Colquhoun (Akarana)' and P. J. Tobln (Whangarei), equal, 182_ P. Crimp (Kiwi) won the Otago match: H. Cromble (Ashburton), the Central Otago match! and F. Clark (Ashburton), the North Otago match. The championship was again won by WiUs (Kiwi), and Clark (Ashburton), was again runner-up.
