LANDING ON THE ROOF.
A "STOPPER , ' FOR AEROPLANES EFFECTIVE STAGE DEVISED. '(Received I.3ft •p.m.) LONDOX, April 20. The "Daily Chronicle" reports that engineers, after experiments lasting six years, have perfected a landing stage which will enable aeroplanes to land on roofs of city buildings and on railway stations. The device consists of a steel grid, which is tilted up according to the speed of the aeroplane; while huge ) fans beneath pump away a cushion of ; compressed air formed in landing—(A. . arid N.Z.
