NGARUAWAHIA NOTES.
■ The annual meeting of tbe Chamber ot Commerce was not very well attended, and It was decided to keep the 6ame officials in office pro tern. A resolution was passed urging on the Government the desirability of establishing homes for segregation of sexual perverts. The Borough Council has abolished the pound in the town. This means that stray stock will have to be driven to Te Rapa, which will incur 10/ driving fees. Heavy rain fell last night and this morning and all games were declared off. The annual meeting of teh local I_eague football club showed a credit balance for Ist year, and that the club had won the ehmpionship of the Lower VTikato. Mr. F. Hutt was elected president, and Mr. R. Veitch secretary. Tlay is to commence next month. The Lower Waikato Rugby League held its annual meeting last wees, lheiv ».i some difficulty in filling the list of officers. Eventually Mr. W. V.*aring accepted the position of president, and Mr. H. Halpin that of secretary. It was decided to begin inter-club matches on Saturday, April 26.
