. Dr. and Mrs. 0. Veitch, of Samoa, went South by the Main Trunk express last night. Messrs. J. Ferguson, of Wellington, and A. L. Jaffey, of Palmerston North, arc at the Central Hotel Mr. J. D. Davys, of Rotorua, and Mr. Kunnerstrum, of Wanganui, are staying at the Grand Hotel. Mr. Harrison Jones, of Dunedin, and Captain C. Foster, of Wellington, left by : the Main Trunk express last night. Mr. and Mrs. (.. Wansborne, and Mr. J. H. McCarroll, of Dargaville, are included among those" staying at the Star Hotel. Mr. Justice MacGregor will deal with the remainder of the civil cases set down for hearing at the session of the Hamilton Supreme Court. Mr. Herbert Garratt. of Sydney, is at present staying at Geyser House Hotel, Wairakei, and intends" spending the remainder of the fishing season there. Captain W. M. Bell, A.D.C. to MajorGeneral Richardson, Administrator of Samoa, returns to Samoa by the Tofua to-day, after visiting New Zealand on furlough. Messrs. E. J. Ussher. J. A. McDougall, and .1. W. Kershaw, of Martinborough, who have been on a fishing expedition to Russell, returned to Auckland on Saturday. Mr. J. H. Salmon. S.M., who controls the Thames Valley circuit, from Thames to Putaruru, has returned from a visit to Australia, and will resume his duties next week. On Friday last, at Wellington, the Ministerial "secretarial staff farewelled Mr. L. C Mitchell, private secretary to the Minister of Agriculture, who is leaving by the Maunganui for the United States. The Director-General of the Agricultural Department. Dr. C. J. Reakes, intends to proceed to Australia on departmental business this week. He hopes to be able to catch the Marama at Auckland on Friday. The Hon. J. G. Coates, Minister of Public Works and Railways, arrived in Auckland from Wellington yesterday morning, on a visit to his electorate. On ; Thursday the Minister will open the new post oflice at Waimauku, and expects to arrive back in Auckland the same even- | ing, to leave on his return to Wellington.
