OUR GREAT EMPIRE.
PRIME MINISTER'S AMBITION. PRIDE OF DOMINIONS. (Received 1.30 p.m.-i LONDON, -larch 13. At the annual meeting of the Empire Parliamentary Association, Mr. Ramsay MacDonaldi-ferred to the Empire as a miscellaneous fabric which some supposed was doomed to destruction with the advent of the Labour Government, but events would show how well Labour had played her part. He was anxious to make Great Britain so big and influential in the best sense of the word that the great self-governing Dominions would feel a real pride to belong to us. They would find London still the scat of the Motherland. He emphasised the necessity of maintaining personal contact as a way of creating the best relations and removing misunderstanding.— (Reutcr.)
