FRAULEIN MAN HUNTER
• I POSSIBLE PEACEFUL INVASION I HUSBAND IN AUSTRALIA. FOR GKETA OF GERMANY. (By Cable. —rrcss Association.—Copyright.) (Received 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, this day. The possibility of the invasion of Xew South Wales by husband-hunting frauleins is foreshadowed in a letter received by Sir George Fuller from Frankfurt. The writer mentions she read advertisements in German papers stating that Australia was short supplied with marriageable women, and the Government intended to eliminate the shortage by bringing out a quarter of a million single- women suitable for marriage, and ffiviiiff them free board and lodgings and a cash allowance to enable them to become accustomed to agricultural conditions, pending a prospective husband presenting himself. After describing her qualifications, the writer asks the Premier to supply fuller information, including whether a return fare would be paid supposing she fails to secure a husband. The lady was informed that any assistance being given women immigrants was re-erved for British women. — (A. and K.Z. Cable.)
