On behalf of the local bodies and settlers in Hawke's Bay, Mr. Mcllvride. M.P., has telegraphed to the Minister of Public Works, the Hon. J. G. Coates requesting him to pay a visit to the district to discuss questions arising out of the Hoods. It is intended to suggest to Mr. Coates that the men who were employed on the railway works, and who will not be able to resume work for some time should be. transferred to the roads to assist in the enormous amount of repair work nscessarjr
