A middle-aged man named Thomas Whitford, found guilty of having indecently assaulted a young girl at Xga run wall ia. was to-day sentenced to three years' imprisonment. His Honor described WinWord's crime as an abominable one. Were it not for the fact that he was apparently suffering from the effects of liquor at the time accused would undoubtedly have been ordered a flogging.
A young man named Philip .Tames O'Oonnell was acquitted on a charge of indecent assault at Cambridge.
