POLICE GUARD CHURCH.
NEW YORK, December 22. Extraordinary interest was shown in the first series of religious debates between the Rev. Potter. Modernist, and tlie Rev. Stratton, Fundamentalist. The subject was "Is the Bible the Infallible \\ord of God':" Intense feeling was displayed by the audinnce. A hundred police guarded/ the churi-h during the debate. Mr. Stratton took the affirmative. Mr. Potter charged the Bible with being inaccurate, unscientific and unhistoric. .JEhe_tbree judges announced that ilrPotter won the debate.
